Current scientific activities
  • In-situ characterization of ion thrusters for electric spacecraft propulsion.
  • Deposition of thin films for optical applications by ion beam techniques (IBD ... ion beam deposition).
  • Optical (in-situ and ex-situ), electrical, and stress characterization of thin films.

    Other scientific activities
  • Infrared ellipsometry and Raman scattering spectroscopy studies of ZnO, (Mg,Cd)ZnO and ZnO:(Al,Ga,Sb,N,Li,Fe,Cu,Co,Mn,Ni) thin films. Investigation of
    - incorporation of alloying or doping elements,
    - influence on crystal properties,
    - free charge carrier parameters.
  • Design of an in-situ Raman measurement probe and its application to the characterization of CIS thin film growth.
  • Infrared ellipsometry studies of organic semiconductors (pentacene).
  • Service measurements (infrared ellipsometry, Raman scattering spectroscopy, transmission, reflectivity) of inorganic and organic thin films: determination of dielectric functions, thickness, free charge carrier parameters, composition, strain, ...
